Would have been at a loss Review by Nathan S.
Overall
I took the PPI2PASS review course January-April 2018 taught by David Olivero, then I took the PE exam on Friday, April 13th, 2018. David was a good teacher and gave his best effort to understand and address every student question. David covered all of the important topics and expressed his opinion about what might be or might not be important for the PE exam. If I had not taken this class I would have been at a loss for what to read, what specific problems to work to prepare for the PE exam, and how to spend my study time. Reading the prescribed sections of the Mechanical Engineering Reference Manual (MERM) by Lindeburg was helpful, but you must annotate your MERM like crazy to ensure that you will be ready to quickly answer PE exam questions on test day. Be sure to add tabs to your MERM that are meaningful to you and relevant to the problems you'll need to work using the fundamental equations in the MERM. UNDERSTAND the equations and the meaning of each variable and subscript. The PPI class had a helpful list of assigned problems, but I would recommend purchasing additional practice tests from NCEES or Amazon. I'll find out if I passed in ~6 weeks. Good luck on your test day! (Posted on 3/31/2020)
