Vladimir Calugaru, PhD

Vladimir Calugaru, PhD has 7 years of research experience and more than 4 years of consulting experience in earthquake engineering, structural engineering, and risk assessment with InfraTerra, Inc. He specializes in earthquake resistant design, numerical analysis, and reliability assessment of complex structures and infrastructure systems. His graduate research at the University of California, Berkeley has focused on seismically isolated structures, particularly liquid storage tanks and tall buildings, and has resulted in more than ten publications. Dr. Calugaru’s project experience includes probabilistic risk assessment, linear and non-linear dynamic analysis, numerical impact modeling, soil-structure interaction analysis, retrofit design, seismic review of structures, and analysis of civil infrastructure. He an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Structural Engineering Association of California (SEAOC).
