Exactly what you need Review by Customer
An excellent method for preparing for the test. The ARE 5.0 is quite costly and with no refunds, so this large review manual is a comprehensive way to take the fear out of the testing. My SO made a career change and this book helped immensely. It covers absolutely everything needed. Highly recommended. (Posted on 1/12/2017)

    Well-organized Review by Customer
The ARE 5 covers entry-level knowledge and focuses on protection of the public health, safety welfare. Careful preparation is necessary as the six sections have recent pass rates ranging from 50 to 77%. In addition to using this straight-forward review manual, participating in AIA-sponsored workshops and study groups is recommended.

The density of information is intimidating, but the manual is designed to be easy to navigate. The organization reflects the structure of the exam, with the six divisions further broken down into chapters and sections. There is a master table of contents and a detailed index along with other navigational guides such as markings on the page edges for divisions and more detailed tables of contents for each chapter. Pay special attention to the introduction as it provides reliable advice on strategy and tactics for registration, studying, and test taking.

Reference materials and 150 example problems are incorporated into the text rather than appended. Online resources include errata only but guides containing ARE 5 Practice Exams and Practice Problems are available separately. The manual is two inches thick and could be improved by providing a wider inner margin so that it could be separated into divisions and placed in three-ring binders for ease of use.
