    Author Information

    Alan Williams is a registered professional engineer and structural engineer in California, a Fellow and Life Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and a Chartered Engineer in the United Kingdom. He obtained his BS and PhD degrees at Leeds University. His extensive practical experience includes the design and construction of bridges, schools, and industrial and commercial structures. Currently he is employed as a senior engineer with the California Department of Transportation. Dr. Williams has published textbooks on structural engineering design, structural analysis, seismic design, and reinforced concrete design.

    I have used it a couple of times and it came in handy. However, it does not have a lot of information/explanation. I hope after I have gotten better at remembering all the formulas, it will be more use to me especially on the test. (Posted on 4/23/2016)
