Seismic Principles Practice Exams for the California Special Civil Engineer Examination (SPPE4), 4th Edition

Seismic Principles Practice Exams is the most realistic practice you can get for the California Special Civil Engineer Seismic Examination. The problems and solutions in this book present the basic concepts of seismic design fundamentals, as well as, demonstrate how the code provisions impose seismic considerations on the engineering design of structures.

Each of these two complete practice exams have 47 multiple-choice problems that represent the actual exam’s problem format, range of topics, and degree of difficulty. Solutions are based on exam-adopted design standards—Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures (ASCE/SEI7) and the California Building Code / International Building Code (CBC/IBC).

Why only 47 Problems? Why Point values? Review by J
    Overall
If this is a brand new edition, why did PPI leave the outdated 47 problems? There are clearly 50 questions on the current exam (as there have been for years now). Also, this book still shows point values for each question. Each question on the current exam is equally weighted (as it has been for years now). I don't understand why these things weren't updated with the new edition. Also, in my opinion, the SI unit alternatives should be removed. The exam is not SI.

Anyway, I don't have this new 4th ed. but I used the 3rd ed. to pass. It is a good book and worth getting.

P.S. The exam is now computer based, not pencil/scantron as mentioned in the book's intro.
