Great course Review by Brad
This course was a great way for me to shake the dust off of some old skills and learn a great deal of new ones. There is a tremendous amount of material covered and consequently the pace of the lectures is very fast. Fortunately they are recorded and I was able to go back and watch the parts where I lost focus, or just got lost.

If I had it to do again, I would schedule more time to spend on the homework so that I had time available to work extra problems. It is a LOT of homework in the first several weeks and I was playing catch up for the rest of the course. This kept me from feeling like I could spend extra time on my weaknesses. Hopefully I will not need the guarantee, but it served as an incentive to get through assignments. Without a question, the homework was the best test prep that I did.

For future attendees my suggestion is to take the practice exam at least a week before the exam, so you have a chance to address the weaknesses that it reveals. Being caught up on the homework is imperative for this to happen. (Posted on 11/29/2016)

Good course Review by Jon
Overall, this course was very good. The instructors put a lot of extra effort into the material and answering questions. Doing all the homework and practice exams is enough for the morning portion of the exam.

The course is skewed toward the building version of the SE, so there are extensive homework assignments that appear beneficial for the building engineer, but overkill for the bridge engineer. There are not comparable assignments for the bridge specific problems. That said, this has been communicated to the instructors and the course is being modified to provide more structured studying for the bridge exam. As more bridge engineers sit for the exam and more material is written, this will only improve.

The course notes leave a bit to be desired. For the most part, they are cut and pasted from the Structural Engineer Reference Manual, and there were quite a few old code references and typos, making them difficult to use. Consolidating the notes as a final study technique eliminates an extra binder of repeat information and would be recommended for the notes in their current form. Again, these comments have been communicated and well received.

Overall, having taken this course, I passed the vertical bridge exam on the first try and will likely take the lateral review before sitting for that exam. (Posted on 6/13/2016)

Very Good, learned a lot Review by Argan
Very good course. Only complaint (and reason for 4-star review) is that the amount of homework overwhelmed me at one point. (Posted on 5/9/2016)
