FAQs about the FE Exam Grading Method and Scores

How is the FE exam scored?
What score will I receive from my state board, and when?

How is the FE exam scored?

The FE exam is scored by NCEES. Beginning with the October 2005 administration, candidates will receive results of "Pass" or "Fail" only. Failing candidates will no longer receive a numerical score.

When will I receive my score from my state board?

This varies by state. The earliest you can expect to receive your score is about 7 weeks after the exam date. Not all states move this speedily.
