FE Exam Information

Min. educ. required: 75% of req. credit leading to an EAC Eng degree
Required degrees/experience: EAC Eng degree; 4-yr TAC Eng Tech degree + 1 yr exp; non-EAC Eng degree + 1 yr exp; no degree + 6 yrs exp; other combinations
Waiver granted for FE exam? Possible with 20 yrs exp


PE Exam Information
NCEES exams offered: Chem, Civ, Elec, Mech, Min/Min, Pet
Residency required for licensure? No
Required degrees/experience: EAC Eng degree + 4 yrs exp; MS or PhD degree + EAC BS degree + 3 yrs exp; 4-yr TAC Eng Tech degree + 5 yrs exp; non-EAC Eng degree + 5 yrs exp; no degree + 12 yrs exp; other combinations

Special notes for Alaska: Applicants for engineering registration in Alaska must successfully complete a board-approved university-level course in arctic engineering or its equivalent, such as those listed here.
