    James A. Swanson has more than 25 years of extensive business experience in Silicon Valley in California. Mr. Swanson has been a founder or CEO of several start-up and public companies. He has also served as chief financial officer, general counsel, and vice president of sales, and served in the U.S. Peace Corps as an irrigation engineer in Morocco. Mr. Swanson holds an SB degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and MBA and JD degrees from Stanford University.

    Author Information

    Michael L. Baird has 30 years of hands-on executive engineering and marketing management experience in the high-tech industry. He was recently a vice president of engineering for Dr. Baird was the chief technology officer for Snap-on, Inc., and served as the vice president of marketing and engineering in several venture capital-funded start-ups. He has a PhD in information and computer science from Georgia Tech, an undergraduate degree in industrial engineering, and an MBA.
